Al Bishop, MSA-HSA is the HIV Service Director for Robeson Health Care Corporation (RHCC) and has served there for 9 years. As HIV Services Director, Mr. Bishop is responsible for monitoring all grant activities and budgets, performing weekly CQI activities, performing benefits advocacy for patients, supervising the HIV Care Coordinator, managing contracts, supervising medical case management and peer education staff, and coordinating training for qualified staff. Mr. Bishop has been involved with the RW Part C and D programs since his beginning at Robeson Health Care Corporation in 2003. Mr. Bishop has been very active and still continues his involvement with: the local RW Part B consortium where he has served as Board Chair, Vice Chair, and secretary; the Regional Community Planning Cluster for the region serving where he has served in all official capacities; the State Community Planning Group; and the newly formed eastern North Carolina regional RW Part B Dogwood Health Care. Mr. Bishop brings more than 8.5 years of Health Department experience in HIV prevention and education as Health Educator, and 2 years experience in CQI, QM and QA activities from the mental health arena. H has a BA degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has a MS degree in administration with a concentration in health service administration from Central Michigan University. Mr. Bishop also has 2 years of serving as adjunct faculty for the University of North Carolina at Pembroke for the Community Health Promotion Undergraduate Program. Mr. Bishop grew up in a neighboring county of southeastern NC and is familiar with the residents of that area and is able to communicate effectively and relate to the populations that he serves.
