Ms. Anderson-Carr came to the FXB Center after completing a 3- year Public Health Prevention Service (PHPS) fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). During her fellowship, she worked in the area of HIV/AIDS completing a 6- month rotation with the National Center for HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STDs, and tuberculosis prevention and a 2- year field assignment at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Office of AIDS Programs and Policy. Prior to the fellowship, Mrs. Anderson-Carr worked with the New York/New Jersey AIDS Education and Training Center. Denise has worked in the area of HIV/AIDS for approximately eight years to include work as an ambulatory care dietitian in an infectious disease practice and in-patient clinical dietitian of the infectious disease unit. Ms. Anderson-Carr is responsible to the HIV-MHRC as follows: program development (identification of resources, content development for trainings/webinar series), program implementation (day-to-day management of work plan activities, coordination of logistics for trainings, conducting trainings, coordinating and facilitating advisory committee and grantee meetings), program monitoring (ensuring timeliness of work plan activities, monitoring of program budget), program evaluation (synthesis of training evaluations and assessing/implementing changes to process and content of trainings as indicated), grant reporting and renewal submissions.
