In August of 2006, Bailous joined the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA). Across the nation, Bailous provides training and leadership development services for consumers and is responsible for planning and organizing Community Mobilization projects including an annual National Healthy Living Summit. Bailous oversees NAPWA’s Consumer Advocacy Project (CAP) project, supervising and training a team of local consumer advocates who provide assistance in obtaining medical and support services for people living with HIV and AIDS in the DC area. Bailous also works with NAPWA’s Capacity Building Program as the Principle Investigator on the Bayard Rustin Project that creates a coalition of peers and providers to increase HIV testing and linkage to care targeting African American Men who have Sex with Men.
