Ms. Johnson has 28 years of experience in health and consumer related issues. Of the 28 years, 14 years have been spent developing and providing capacity building training and leadership development to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH/A) with a special emphasis on women living with HIV/AIDS. She is experienced in forming collaborations and partnerships between community, government, and academic institutions to ensure effective planning, implementation, evaluation, and sustainability of HIV prevention programs. For example, Ms. Johnson was responsible for organizing NAPWA’s HIV Awareness and Testing Day Skills Building Institutes, in addition to its Women’s Institute, which provided technical assistance and training for representatives from community based organizations, health departments, and the PLWH/A community interested in adapting community mobilizations models in their communities. In addition, Ms. Johnson is an expert facilitator and trainer with earned certifications to conduct WILLOW, SISTA, VOICES/VOCES, and Healthy Relations. Furthermore, Ms. Johnson is experienced in designing innovative and effective HIV service and leadership development initiatives as well as writing successful proposals and developing collaborative relationships with a variety of institutions and organizations to fund such initiatives.
