Jan Carl Park, MA/MPA, Director and Governmental Co-Chair of the HIV Health & Human Services Planning Council of New York. Division of Policy & External Affairs, New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. Mr. Park has spent the last 30 years as an advocate for people living with HIV and AIDS – first and foremost as a person living with HIV (he was among the first 100 New Yorkers to be tested for HIV); as a front-line volunteer for numerous HIV/AIDS service organizations (he was one of the first GMHC buddies); and, for twenty 21 years, as a public servant, of which the last 12 years have been spent as a public health official charged with the task of providing for the needs of people living with HIV. His HIV and AIDS work includes serving as a Mayoral Program Coordinator for the Mayor’s Office of AIDS Policy Coordination, a Regional Planner for the Tri-County Ryan White Part A program at the Westchester County Department of Health, and Deputy and Senior Advisor to the Assistant Commissioner of the Bureau of HIV and AIDS. He serves on the Boards of the CAEAR Coalition and the AIDS Fund of the New York Community Trust.
